KELVIN JACKSON, PSC Chairman - My wife, Tracy, and I moved to Sacramento from Santa Rosa in June 2000 and have been attending New Testament Baptist Church ever since. This Church has been an integral part of our lives; our two daughters, Lindsey and Erin, were both dedicated to the Lord in this Church and we have been blessed to meet some wonderful friends and supportive prayer partners. Since becoming a member, I have served as Chairman of the Brotherhood Ministry, which has allowed me multiple opportunities to serve the Church. My service opportunities through the Brotherhood ministry are too numerous to list individually but they include: facilitate numerous Bible study lessons, actively serve on the Church Leadership Council, plan and coordinate the annual church wide Men’s Retreat, assist the Deacon’s Ministry with home visits and church wide operations, assist the Women’s and Kitchen ministries with food basket distribution, and serve in direct support of most ministries in the Church ranging from security concerns to outreach. I have been blessed to deliver a message from the pulpit and I was also an elementary school classroom teacher for the New Testament Christian School. It is an extreme, and humbling, privilege to now serve as Chairman of The Pastoral Search Committee.

BARBARA JAMES, PSC Secretary - I was born Barbara Ann Cato in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and my family moved to San Francisco when I was a year old. My 6 siblings and I were raised by Christian parents and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in SF where my 91 year-old father still serves as a Deacon. I have a son, Eric James, two daughters, Karin Green and Andrea Bascochea, and 8 grandchildren. After moving to Sacramento 25 years ago, I worked at McClellan AFB before it closed, then finished up my work career at the County of Sacramento and I retired 2 years ago. I was a member of Murph Emmanuel AME in North Highlands for many years and I loved the fellowship there, but eight years ago I returned to my Baptist roots and joined with NTBC. I have truly been blessed by the ongoing encouragement from the pulpit to attend Bible Studies and Christian Education classes because, as a result, I have greatly increased my time in the Bible, in prayer, in meditation, and in praise; but most of all I’m continuously growing in the knowledge of God’s Holy Word and in my personal relationship with Him. I presently serve in the Christian Education Department and the Pastoral Search Committee. I’m also active in Women of Faith and help with the NTBC Website.

In response to hearing God’s call I serve New Testament by being a part of the Kitchen Ministry, Trustee Board, Discipleship Training Teacher and now the Pastoral Search Committee.
